The future of home decorating is looking bright—according to Pantone, anyway. The color forecasting company recently released its spring/summer 2020 trend report, predicting which shades will be popular next year.
What The Color Experts Have to Say
In a statement, Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Institute, shared that the colors “express our desire for a sense of the familiar,” while still leaving ample room for personalization. Eiseman states, “Combining our desire for stability, creativity, and more spontaneous design approaches, the color palette for Spring/Summer 2020 infuses heritage and tradition with a colorful youthful update that creates strong multi-colored combinations as well as energizing and optimistic pairings.”
What We Have to Say
We have to agree, these colors are certainly energizing! With such diversity, however, it might require a little extra work to mix and match in a way that provides balance throughout your home’s interior. The great thing is that this palette has something for everyone, with colors ranging all across the board. If one color speaks to you, but you aren’t sure how to work it into your home, opt for a muted version of it. Or, if you prefer it fully saturated, simply use it in smaller doses throughout the space.
In addition to the 12 on this palette, Pantone has also released its 4 seasonal classics. These colors can certainly stand on their own, but they can also be used to soften the effect of any you fancy from the colors above. The classic colors include Lark (16-1327), Navy Blazer 19-3923), Brilliant White (11-4001), and Ash (16-3802).
