Fashion Month is officially in the books, which means Pantone has released their color predictions for spring and summer 2019. But what does Fashion Month have to do with decorating your home? Well, while these colors can certainly add spark to your wardrobe, they can also add spark to your home! And that’s exactly why many designers look to the runway–to see what colors, materials, and styles can be translated into beautiful interiors.
Since Living Coral was dubbed their Color of the Year, I wasn’t all that surprised to see that the new seasonal palette is quite uplifting! And why not? Spring is all about dusting off the winter chill and celebrating new life in nature–and that’s exactly the vibe I got from the Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report.
According to the report, the spring/summer palette full of empowering colors that are meant to uplift our spirits and provide us with confidence, all the while taking us “down a path of creative and unexpected combinations.”
There are 16 colors in all on the Pantone spring/summer 2019 color trend report: 12 lively hues and an additional 4 neutrals (click here to see the spring/summer swatches). These neutrals stand beautifully on their own or can be used to serve as a foundation for “distinctive color contrasts.”
This year’s colors include:
- Fiesta
- Jester Red
- Turmeric
- Living Coral (Color of the Year)
- Pink Peacock
- Pepper Stem
- Aspen Gold
- Princess Blue
- Toffee
- Mango Mojito
- Terrarium Moss
- Sweet Lilac
- Soybean
- Eclipse
- Sweet Corn
- Brown Granite
Using the Palette in Your Home
No doubt, this palette is one of the most energized I’ve seen–and for some people, this makes figuring out how to incorporate them a bit challenging.
If you love the idea of color, but not in large quantities, start small with accessories. Throws, accent pillows, vases, table lamps, rugs, and even floral arrangements are just some of the ways you can add vibrancy to your home without going overboard. If you have no fear, go for something bigger such as an accent wall, an upholstered chair, or a painted piece of furniture.
Whichever you choose–big or small–will liven up your space and give a nod to the new season. Be sure to stop by one of our showrooms to see what fabrics and accessories we have that can add pops of this palette to your home.
