Add a Splash of Color to Your Bath

Add a Splash of Color to Your Bath, Dallas, Tx

It seems that the bathroom is one of the places that tends to get overlooked. Granted, it’s not a room that the majority of the day is spent in, but that doesn’t mean it has to be lifeless. A bathroom is a great space to splash with color! Here are some ways on how to incorporate a little color without having to do any drastic design changes.

(1)  Paint. Paint is one of the easiest ways to add color to a space. Even if you don’t have much wall space, a little color goes a long way. Have mainly tiled walls? Add paint to the ceiling. You could even add paint to a frame and then hang it on the wall if you only need a little pop of color. Should you ever decide to sell your home, painting walls back to a neutral color is easy, so have fun and choose a color that you love.

(2)  Art. Hanging art in the bathroom can definitely spruce up the place. A print or poster above the toilet is a great place to hang something fun, beautiful or unique. If it’s just a guest bath that won’t get much use, moisture won’t really be a problem. Don’t focus on finding something expensive, just focus on getting something that will give the bath a little more personality.

(3)  Fabric. Fabric often gets overlooked as a perfect way to include color within a bathroom, and it doesn’t have to be limited to the shower curtain. Custom made is always nice because you can get exactly what you want. If you just don’t have the finances however, consider a fabric outlet store or just buy off-the-shelf. Add life to the bathroom with items such as window treatments or even hanging tapestries.

(4)  Decorative items. Use some of the empty spaces in the bathroom for decorative items. The top of the toilet or a spot on the counter can be a nice place for something such as a vase, decorative bowl or candleholder. Just little touches here and there can really make a difference.

Choosing the Right Color

Choosing colors for the bathroom doesn’t have to be anymore difficult than choosing colors for the rest of the home. Check out websites like Pantone to get color palette inspiration. If you have older shower and tile colors that can’t be changed right now, take your time to find something that will compliment and subdue, rather than make it stand out. There are so many colors that can be used, the possibilities are endless.
