Ready made slipcovers pretty much have a ‘one size fits all’ design, which really has no defined shape. These types of slipcovers essentially cover the entire piece of furniture, leaving excess fabric that needs to be adjusted (i.e. tucked in) to fit your specific piece. What to Slipcover

With the exception of furniture such as recliners, which contain too many moveable parts, anything can benefit from a slipcover. Don’t be afraid to branch out from the traditional sofa slipcover by tackling projects such as loveseats, chairs, ottomans, footstools, headboards, and lampshades. The list doesn’t stop there. Picking the fabric for a slipcover is essentially the same process you would use if you were buying a new piece of furniture entirely. Things to consider would be:

• Location of the furniture
• Use of the furniture
• Ease to clean
• Purpose of slipcover (protection, design or both?)

Cotton, polyester or blends are always wise choices since they are durable and easy to clean. Other suggestions would be twill, denim, or even faux silks. If the piece you are covering will be in high traffic areas, take color and pattern into consideration as well.
