Simple Kid's Room Updates And Decorating Fort Worth

Simple Decor & Decorating Updates:

Kid’s tastes often change just as fast as they grow, but not all changes are within budget. In all reality though, there’s no reason that changes have to cost a fortune. Here are four simple kid’s room updates you can do easily, and without draining your wallet. All it will take is a little time and some creativity.

Update #1: Design an eye-catching message board

Have a busy tween or teen that needs little reminders ever now and then? Make a cool fabric covered message board. To make, simply take an inexpensive framed corkboard and glue or staple a piece of fabric over the front to jazz it up. If you’d like something bigger and even more creative, consider a frameless board or find cork that can be cut into shapes of your choosing. Whatever you choose to design, it’ll be a great way to display messages and to-do lists attractively.

Update #2: Recover a chair cushion

If your kid has a piece of furniture, such as a desk or vanity, that requires a chair, consider a chair with a removable cushion. Reupholstering a chair cushion is extremely easy to do and doesn’t take much time at all. Often times, you can find great chairs at a thrift or consignment store. Update #3: Add colorful accents

A new lamp base, window treatments, artwork, throw pillows, a patterned rug, and painted furniture, are all easy ways to add colorful accents throughout your kid’s room. Not only do you get new color, but you can also bring in more texture and pattern if the room is lacking in it. If you’re an avid do-it-yourselfer, you should have no trouble tackling small projects that make big impact. For inspiration, hop on the computer and start browsing great sites like Pinterest.

Update #4: Create more storage

Kids accumulate a lot of things as they grow. From toys, to book, to clothes, there will always be something that needs a home. This doesn’t mean you have to go out and buy expensive pieces of furniture to accommodate. Instead, try to give new life to older pieces found at thrift stores. If you don’t have the space, adding some simple shelves to the wall that can do wonders. If you have the space, and if you’re handy with nails and a hammer, think about adding a window bench to keep things stored out of the way.
